Bahamas Wedding and Honeymoon Charter Flights

Congratulations! The Bahamas are one of the most popular destinations for both weddings and honeymoons. We can help get your people to the right island on the right day.

Harbour Island, the Exumas, Abaco and the resort properties on New Providence and Paradise Island all host weddings, and each one comes with a different answer about which airport your guests should actually use.

Moving the Guest List

Wedding travel is a group problem. Guests arrive from different cities, on different budgets, with a ceremony that starts at a fixed time. Charter lets you collect people from one or two departure points and land them together, which removes the familiar scene of half the party stuck on a delayed connection.

Group sizes vary enormously. For anything over nineteen passengers, when the total passenger count outgrows a heavy jet the aircraft required would fall into regional airliner, or airliner-size, and those trips would no longer fall under the FAR Part 135 standards but possibly operate under FAR Part 121 or foreign equivalent standards.

Which Island, Which Airport?

This is where people most often go wrong. North Eleuthera is the airport for Harbour Island and Spanish Wells, not Governor’s Harbour. Marsh Harbour and Treasure Cay serve different parts of Abaco. Several Out Island airfields suit turboprops and light aircraft better than jets, so a beach wedding on a small island may mean a different aircraft than you assumed.

If you provide us with the venue’s information rather than the airport, we can get you closest to your destination.

Dates and Documents

Every guest needs a valid passport, and your first landing in the country has to be at a designated airport of entry, where Bahamas Customs and Immigration clear the aircraft.

Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30, which is worth knowing when you set a date rather than after the invitations are printed.

For couples traveling on afterward, honeymoon and anniversary flights work the same way, with a good deal more flexibility about when you leave. Talk to an advisor about your dates and headcount.
