Getting a team to the Bahamas and back without wrecking the schedule is a charter problem, and it is one we solve regularly. Your focus is the game. Ours is making sure the travel does not become the story.
We arrange large-cabin and airliner-size aircraft for high school and club teams, college and university programs, semi-professional and professional sides, moving squads between islands, to and from Florida, and across longer international routes.
Aircraft for a Squad
Aircraft used for team movements include Boeing Business Jets, Boeing 727s and 737s, MD-80 series, Airbus types and regional jets, alongside smaller private aircraft where the group is small enough.
Passenger numbers decide the regulatory picture. When your total passenger count outgrows a heavy jet and the group consists of more than nineteen passengers, the aircraft required would fall into regional airliner, or airliner-size. These trips would no longer fall under the FAR Part 135 standards but possibly operate under FAR Part 121 or foreign equivalent standards. Part 121 and equivalent generally carry stricter crew and operating requirements than FAR Part 91 and FAR Part 135.
Alongside the squad itself, we arrange group charter for sponsors, staff, families and traveling supporters.
Working With the Travel Staff
We work alongside coaches, team managers, travel departments and operations staff. Baggage is usually the interesting part on a team charter, because things like medical equipment and playing gear take considerably more volume than the passenger count suggests. That drives the aircraft choice as much as seat numbers do.
Both contract and on-demand arrangements are available, depending on whether you are moving once or across a season.
Bahamas Specifics
Every flight between the United States and the Bahamas is international, so every player, coach and staff member needs a valid passport, and unaccompanied minors on a youth team may need additional documentation. Your first landing in the country has to be at a designated airport of entry, where Bahamas Customs and Immigration clear the aircraft, usually at the private terminal.
Nassau and Freeport take airliner-size aircraft. If a game is on an Out Island, tell us the venue and we will work back to what can actually land nearby.
