Flying to a sporting event in the Bahamas, or out of the islands to one somewhere else, is a trip where the schedule is fixed and the airline timetable rarely cooperates. Charter solves that, whether you are going as a fan, taking clients, or moving a group.
Some people will travel anywhere to watch their team. Others use events as corporate hospitality for clients and staff. Both end up with the same problem: everyone needs to arrive before it starts and leave when it finishes.
Events In and Around the Islands
The Bahamas hosts a good deal worth flying in for. Bimini and the surrounding waters have a long history of big-game fishing tournaments, sailing regattas run across the Out Islands with George Town in Exuma as a major focal point, and Nassau regularly draws golf, basketball and other international competition to its resort venues.
Flying out is just as common. Getting from Nassau or Freeport to a game in Florida and back the same night is straightforward by charter and close to impossible on a published schedule.
Group Size Decides the Aircraft
We arrange anything from a light jet for a handful of friends up to airliner-size aircraft seating well over a hundred. When your total passenger count outgrows a heavy jet and the group consists of more than nineteen passengers, the aircraft required would fall into regional airliner, or airliner-size, and those trips would no longer fall under the FAR Part 135 standards but possibly operate under FAR Part 121 or foreign equivalent standards.
Tell us the headcount early. It changes the aircraft, the airports that will work, and the price.
Practicalities
Extra baggage, smoking or non-smoking cabins and pets can all be accommodated on the right aircraft, and it is worth raising them before we quote rather than after.
Every flight between the United States and the Bahamas is international, so every passenger needs a valid passport and your first landing has to be at a designated airport of entry. During major events, ramp space at the smaller airports fills quickly, which is a good reason to start early.
