Bahamas Humanitarian and Relief Flights

The Bahamas knows what a serious storm does to an island, and we arrange the flights that move people and supplies afterward. Our reach and our operator network make us a practical option for relief flights, evacuations and disaster response across the islands and further afield.

Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30, and the archipelago sits in the track. When a storm hits, the immediate problem is usually that the airports nearest to the damages are the ones least capable of accommodating these kinds of missions.

What We Can Arrange

Aircraft carrying as few as two passengers up to more than two hundred, for evacuation movements, relief personnel and response teams. Full-aircraft cargo charter for supplies, equipment and materials, arranged as a dedicated flight rather than shared freight.

Helicopters matter here more than in most markets. Where a runway is damaged, flooded or unusable, a helicopter is frequently the only way in, and the Out Islands have a great many places with no runway at all.

Working Around Damaged Infrastructure

Storm damage changes what an airport can accept, sometimes for months. Fuel availability, runway condition, lighting and customs staffing can all be affected, and the answer on the day may be a different island, adding a road or boat transport to your final destination at the end.

We confirm with the operator what is possible for your date, and the operator and Pilot in Command hold the decision on whether a flight can be completed safely.

Clients and Coordination

We arrange relief and response flights for individuals, corporations, non-governmental organizations and government agencies. These missions need careful preparation, and we will work through the contingencies with you rather than presenting a single option.

Every flight between the United States and the Bahamas is international. Passports are required, the first landing has to be at a designated airport of entry, and landing permits are generally applied for after a trip has been secured on the aircraft schedule, with timelines sometimes dictated by the local airport authorities.

Note that this is relief and logistics work. For patient transport with medical staff on board, see our medical and air ambulance page.
